The Matt Brent Band (MBB) is a Marion, OH based worship rock quartet intent on honoring God with their music and allowing Him to transform lives. They utilize high-energy stage presence and a mix of influences across decades and genres melding a sound that is distinctive and memorable. With driving vocals, a straightforward rhythm, and shimmering guitars their appeal is generational sometimes compared to Casting Crowns and Jeremy Camp.

“We take the ministry portion of our music very seriously because that’s where lives are changed. Musicianship for the sake of excellence and without any substance fails to engage the heart and encourage the soul,” says lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Brent.

The current line up includes Ben Zucker on guitars, Wes Burris on bass and Mindy Schwartz on drums. While just over a year, they are making an impression on the Central Ohio music scene, and becoming a sought after worship band. Featured in concerts and events to benefit the poor both domestic and foreign, the MBB takes their message seriously enough to live it. The MBB is also involved with local events and the winners of the 2009 Rock-N-Ribsfest Battle of the Bands which annually crowns Marion's Best Band. The MBB is the first Christian band to proclaim Jesus Christ on the Party Popping Stage, the largest stage available to local artists in Marion’s Popcorn Festival. Their song "From Our Eyes" is due to be released internationally on compilation CD with Quickstar Productions which will benefit water projects in Ghana, Africa.

“We just want to draw people closer to God through music and lyrics that exalt God and speak an understandable message,” says Brent. Using actions to back up their words the Matt Brent Band plans to continue to reach people where they stand using the gifts that God gave them.
